Sport Relief fun at Northfield nursery

Sport ReliefIt’s Sport Relief time again and one Birmingham nursery is a hop, skip and jump away from raising a lot of money for this good cause.

Bright Kids in Northfield organised a sports day to raise cash for the charity, while at the same time encouraging the children to be healthy.

Of all the money raised by the public through Sport Relief, half is used to make a difference, right here at home, in the UK, while the other half goes towards transforming lives across the world’s poorest communities.

The nursery’s deputy manager Kerrie McCaffery said they were keen to do everything they could to support Sport Relief.

Sport Relief 2“We all arrived at nursery dressed in our sports clothes, and the children started off playing with the Sport Relief balloons,” she said.

“Then the children got involved in aerobics inside the nursery and outside there were obstacle courses and running races.”

The Nursery on Norman Road already takes part in the Start Well initiative which is aimed at helping children to eat well and get regular exercise.

Kerrie said: “We are keen to encourage the children to keep fit, and the money raised from our sports day will go towards Sports Relief, and some will also go to our nursery funds.

“The children have all had a lovely day and all enjoyed taking part in the range of activities we had going on.”
