Our History

Our HistoryIn 1999 Bright Kids was started by Tricia Wellings from a spacious house converted into a nursery in Studley, Warwickshire. Building on this successful model we opened a 47-place nursery (now 71 place) in September 2001, at Crabbs Cross, Redditch. Using our successful model, this was followed by the opening of a 24-place Out of School Club in Crabbs Cross the following year.

We have grown steadily since, continually refining and improving our quality childcare formula whilst also responding to increasing demand for flexible care.

In the summer of 2004 we acquired a third setting based in Northfield, Birmingham. With a total registration for 66 children.

In 2014 an Out of School Club opened at Matchborough First School Academy.

This was followed in 2019 by two nursery acquisitions at Coughton and Evesham, where we introduced our unique offering which was encompassed by new and existing staff at those sites.

In 2021 we opened Barley Lea in Coventry which was followed acuiring Bell Green in Coventry in 2023.

Lower Quinton nursery was also acquired in 2023 and is currenlty undergoing an extensive expansion to become a 72 place nursery.

Development

We continue to invest in our staff and infrastructure so we can maintain our high quality standards. This allows the children in our care to maximise their individual learning. This has been made possible by the development of a sister company MBK Early Years in 2014 that aims to support the Bright Kids Teams with their knowledge and practice through focussed training and development.

All our sites are supported by our Group Head Office Team headed up by Tricia Wellings.
