Our newest member of the Bright Kids family is The Barley Lea nursery, Coventry, which opened in September 2021. Situated in the Stoke Aldermoor area of the city this nursery will be able to serve other local districts as well, including Willenhall, Whitley & Binley. The Barley Lea Nursery will provide the same quality, friendly childcare services that we have become known for across all of our other Midlands nurseries. Previously running as Tiny Toez Barley Lea it is now part of the Bright Kids group.
We are proud to be taking over the Barley Lea nursery, based on The Barley Lea itself and close to Aldermoor Farm Primary School and St Catherines Church. The Barley Lea Nursery will continue to offer indoor and outdoor play on a daily basis, providing the children with essential play opportunities to learn.
The facilities at Barley Lea include an outdoor classroom and a large play space that is ready for us to enhance further into an interesting environment for children to learn and explore. Indoors, babies have their own dedicated area with activities suitable for their development. Our Toddlers & Pre-school children share a space with integrated learning aimed at their individual learning needs.
We plan to bring all of the experiences that we offer in our other settings to Barley Lea. Bright Kids has introduced a Curious theme to our learning as well as offering training to the whole team. We will also be looking to continue our adventures in the local area and seeing how we can interact with it through taking walks and joining in with local activities.

We have our Ofsted Registration visit booked for 13th September. Our first inspection and therefore grading can happen anytime within the first 30 months. We have five other nurseries, one Outstanding two Good and two awaiting inspection. Our most recent inspection was in January 2018 where we obtained an Outstanding at our Northfield setting. It said:
At Northfield Nursery the overall the quality of the provision is OUTSTANDING.
Staff provide a truly enabling environment and facilitate children’s learning exceptionally well indoors and outside. Owing to meticulous monitoring, gaps in children’s learning close rapidly and significantly.
Children are extremely confident and they have exciting experiences in the imaginatively resourced environment. Children satisfy their natural curiosity and test their abilities through play with unusual toys and equipment. The added value of these experiences helps children to develop far-reaching skills for their future roles in society. All staff have a very strong understanding of their responsibilities to protect children from harm and to keep them safe.
Teaching flows effortlessly and staff respond instantly to children’s ideas and reshape activities. Children develop extensive personal skills. Staff support children’s confidence and independence. Expert teaching and high expectations of each child contribute to the high levels of attainment in the nursery. Children are extremely self-assured and develop the essential skills for the move on to school.
