After sharing lots of ideas, Our Investigators and Our Discoverers decided the vehicle area needed a car wash and some bridges. Our Investigators got busy cutting cardboard and adding material to create the car wash, while Our Discoverers searched for the perfect resources to build their bridges - eventually deciding colourful pipe cleaners would do the job perfectly.

Once everything was ready, the children couldn’t wait to test it out, taking their cars through the wash and over the bridges while chatting about their own car journeys and trips to the car wash. A lovely example of their ideas shaping the environment around them 🚗🚂

After becoming curious about the bugs they found in the garden, the children decided to create a large bug hotel 🐌 We explored their habitats and learned why it's important to protect bugs. The children collected materials from around the garden and worked together to decide where to place them in the bug hotel. Now we have a safe home for the bugs and knowledge of why they are so important to our environment 🌍

The children have been busy creating their very own weather station. 🌦️

We made the rain catchers by:

🎨 Decorating plastic bottles with bright colours
☀️ Drawing pictures of the sun and clouds
🧵 Threading string through the bottles
☔ Sharing our predictions about how much rain we might collect

Once they were finished, we headed outside to the garden and the children helped to hang the rain catchers on the fence. We can't wait to see how much rain they catch over the coming days!
