Our Discoverers, have been learning all about the importance of wiping our noses - and what a fantastic job the children have done! 👃

During circle time, we had a gentle chat about why we wipe our noses and how to do it properly. Each child took a turn passing around the tissue box, practising their wiping skills with care and confidence.

Afterwards, we talked about where tissues go (in the bin, of course!) and why it’s important to wash our hands - because even tiny germs can make us feel unwell 🦠

We followed up by heading straight to the sink to practise thorough handwashing with soap, making sure we washed all the bits - not just a splash and dash! 🧼

Top tip: Try singing a short song (like “Happy Birthday”) while your child washes their hands - it helps them scrub for the right amount of time and makes it more fun too 🗣

Our team of curious Investigators has some thrilling news - our butterflies have emerged! After two weeks of patient watching, wondering and learning, we were finally greeted by fluttering wings and delicate beauty 🦋

We carefully fed them a mixture of orange slices and sugar water to help them build strength, and the children were fascinated by their tiny movements and colourful patterns. Some of our little ones even felt confident enough to gently hold the butterflies before they took flight - such a magical moment! 💛

When the time came, we said our goodbyes and released them into the sky, watching as they soared off with confidence. A few even fluttered back later in the day - as if to say thank you.

This experience wasn’t just about butterflies - it was about growth, patience, care and wonder. And our children embraced it beautifully. Why not ask your child what their butterfly looked like or how it felt to let it go - you might be surprised by the wisdom in their words 🌿

Last week, children were captivated by a very special sight - our caterpillars had begun moving inside their cocoons! 🐛

Together, we gathered to watch, wonder and talk about what was happening. Why was the cocoon wriggling? Because inside, the butterflies were strengthening their flight muscles, getting ready for the moment they’ll spread their wings 🦋

We used this magical moment to explore the life cycle of a butterfly, spark thoughtful questions, and encourage gentle conversations about growth, change and patience.

Watching the children's eyes light up as they made connections and shared their ideas reminded us just how powerful these real-life experiences can be - blending science, awe, and emotional development all in one ✨
