Christmas fun and games were enjoyed at a Bright Kids nursery when staff organised three days of parties for all the children. Staff at the Crabbs Cross setting had been busy putting up decorations and making festive food for the events, which took place last week. There was even a visit from Santa, with each child getting a present to take home. On Wednesday the Sunbeams enjoyed their party with the children, who are aged two to three, taking part in games including pass the parcel and musical statues. On Thursday it was the Little Stars group’s turn with the babies enjoying a bouncy castle and soft play. Finally on Friday the Shining Lights pre-school group enjoyed a range of activities and party games.

Katie Buckley, deputy manager and preschool leader, said there had been a wonderful festive atmosphere. “The parties went really well and the children got stuck in and enjoyed all the activities. There was plenty of party food too with savoury treats, cakes and mince pies. For some of the babies this was their first Christmas and it was lovely for us to have a special party for them. The pre-school children are more aware of what Christmas means and so it was lovely for them to have a visit from Santa. They are getting excited about Christmas and had a lot of fun at the party.”

Children in Shining Lights also had their Christmas Concert on Thursday when parents were invited in to hear the children sing songs including When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney, Jingle Bells, We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Katie added: “We had some wonderful feedback from parents who couldn’t believe how well the children performed. They all sang so well, and had a lot of fun, so all the hard work paid off. Afterwards tea, coffee and mince pies were served and everyone enjoyed the festive atmosphere.”
