BRAVE FACES AT BRIGHT KIDS
Bright Kids staff at Crabbs Cross nursery put on a brave face and started clearing up the devastation caused by a car crashing into the building on 2 June 2011. Staff all acted with speed when it happened evacuating the building and continued to uphold our Ofsted rated 'outstanding' status with regard to safeguarding children.
The nursery was closed last Thursday and Friday but has opened again this week in order not to let these events disrupt the lives of the families they serve and to provide continuity for the children. Anita Shepherd, Nursery Manager said "We are aware that some children may wish to 'work through' the events that they experienced on the day and thereafter and we are going to use 'role play' as therapy should that prove to be the case". Donna Heritage, whose son Ciaran, 3 was in the room at the time the car hit said "It is every parent's nightmare to have something like this happen when they leave their child, but I cannot tell you how grateful I am to each and every member of staff there, for making sure that Ciaran was out of harm's way, safe and happy until I arrived."
