About Us

History & the genes of a good idea

In 1999, a 49 place (now 50 place); purpose built nursery was opened in Studley, Warwickshire. With the aid of a lottery grant this was soon expanded into 76 places with the addition of a 26-place Out of School Club. A successful nursery and out of school club brand formula was continuously developed and improved. This built on the traditional nursery services provided by the competition, but extended these to provide the unique "Bright Kids" brand of products & services, which specifically reflect the needs of busy and working parents, by incorporating the ages of 0 - 11 years on one safe & secure site.

The outstanding success and demand for their high quality service soon led to the opening of a sibling 47-place nursery in September 2001, at Crabbs Cross - to serve parents in the Redditch area. This was followed by the opening of a 24-place Out of School club in the June of the following year.

The third setting in the ongoing success story of the Bright Kids Group was acquired in August 2004 and is based in Northfield, Birmingham. With a total registration for 80 children it is able to cater for up to 64 nursery children and 16 out of school children.

Since then we have also opened three Out of School Clubs within schools, each linked to a nursery. In 2006 at Studley Infants, close to Studley nursery; in 2010 at The Harry Taylor first school, opposite Crabbs Cross nursery and in 2011 Wigwams based at Wychall Primary School, close to Northfield nursery.

The business has always been at the forefront of developments in the education and childcare market. Their priorities since inception are:

To continuously improve the quality and appropriateness of the products & services provided at all sites

To implement a solid, outstanding business plan making them a major and outstanding service provider

To build the successful Bright Kids Nurseries brand which focuses on the genuine development of individual children in a safe, secure environment

To improve the knowledge, skills and experience of the Bright Kids management, staff, parents and children, so that ultimately the children within their care maximise their individual learning, and

To attempt, wherever possible, to effectively communicate with all staff, parents and children so that everyone is kept fully informed
