About Us

Childcare Services:

We endeavour to provide services that are really valued and appreciated by busy and working parents. We offer individual services that are flexible to the specific needs of parents and for babies and children ranging from 6 weeks to 11 years of age.

Our helpful staff would be delighted to explain our full service offering, or alternatively please use the Contact form or email for more information.

As Early Years specialists we have developed specific services in 4 broad age categories: Babies, Toddlers, Pre-School and Out of School.

Early Years Foundation Stage

All our settings have adopted the new Early Years Foundation Stage, a government curriculum for planning learning for children from birth to five. A visit to any nursery will show how the learning is developed under the four main principles of:

* A Unique Child
* Positive Relationships
* Enabling Environments
* Learning & Development

Our childcare services are broadly delivered by age range in the following way:

Bright Beginnings.(6 weeks to 20+ months)

...Ensuring a bright start is provided for your babies...

Our baby suites are bright, cheerful environments; cleverly utilising natural light and ensuring correct ventilation with a consistent temperature throughout, so that a relaxed, "home from home" atmosphere is created.

With a staff to child ratio of 1:3 the playrooms have plenty of dedicated floorspace for babies to crawl & run around. Dedicated kitchen areas are used to carefully prepare food and prepare for individual "messy" play experiences. Sleepzones and baby changing facilities are provided throughout all sites.

Loving and caring environments, with first class facilities, maintaining rigid standards of cleanliness, mean that babies receive the very best care and attention. Stimulating development via a wide variety of play activities helps babies to "learn through play" from their very first day. This "learn through play" philosophy is built on as your child progresses through the nursery and on into the out of school clubs.

Routines established at home are, wherever possible, maintained and to ensure everything is communicated back to parents each baby has their own diary, so that you don't miss out on each day's event.

Our informative information packs make it easy for parents to know what they need to provide and what is provided by Bright Kids as part of the service. Please click the link above to order yours.

All of this means that babies receive a wonderful and magical introduction to nursery life before moving on to.

The Toddler Zone. (20+ months to 3 years)

...Ensuring happier and brighter developing toddlers...

Exciting "toddler zones" encourage mobility and learning through play.

Bright n' Mobile is a gentle introduction to the older babies of the more robust nursery activities. Children are gradually introduced into more directional learning, but always at their own speed and specific to their individual needs and routines.

Bright n' Active is a natural progression where activities are extended to encourage more in depth investigation and experimentation. This is always fun and enjoyable for children, but is planned so that all skills are developed.

The independence skills needed for future learning are beginning to become established here and our learning through play philosophy is the key to our happy and cheerful toddler rooms.

We pride ourselves on working in partnership with parents to help and advise on your child's changing needs and including basic life skills such as "toilet training" into nursery life. This gives the child confidence and helps them to develop fully in all ways.

Children are therefore prepared for the next part of their creative journey through nursery.

Pre-School Education (3 years plus)

...Ensuring that a brighter education is provided for your child...

Bright Sparks introduces extended learning through play which is planned around the Early Years Foundation Stages Early Learning Goals as a further development of the curriculum for the under fives. Messy play, art and craft activities, sand and water play, simple baking, wood play and plenty of outdoor activity are all encouraged and provided for. Forest School learning is also in place in many of the nurseries.

Our School Rooms are dedicated learning environments which further advance children's learning through the provision of new and stimulating activities based around achieving these Early Learning Goals. Hence, when your child is ready to start school, they will be on a par with their peers. Our philosophy is to promote "learning through play" and research has proven this to be the best way of developing children in all areas of their learning. The effects of school life on children who are too young has been well documented and this type of philosophy will encourage our children to be life-long independent learners.

Activities are carefully planned, and inspected by Ofsted to ensure we are effective in our delivery. The areas in which we plan cover:

* Personal, Social & Emotional Development

* Communication,Language & Literacy

* Problem Solving, Reasoning & Numeracy

* Knowledge & Understanding of the World

* Physical Development, and

* Creative Development

Naturally, we provide plenty of valuable information on progress in these areas and an assessment of your child's current development, can be passed onto your chosen school.

Out of School Clubs (all school ages to 11 years)

In response to market demand, we can now offer creative, fun before & after school care as well as holiday clubs during all school holidays.

...helping to ensure that your child's school life is brighter...

Bright n' Early Club: children of busy, working parents are offered a safe, relaxed environment before they go to school. The day begins with a leisurely breakfast of cereals and/or toast, served between 7.30 and 8.15 am. Children can then play with selected toys and games that are appropriate to their age.

They are then delivered to their school premises, ensuring their safe entry.

Bright Lights Club: after the school day, children are collected from their school at that schools' finish time. Once they arrive back at the Bright Kids site they can relax, unwind and play. After a snack tea, they can choose an activity for the free time session and older children are invited to start their homework (if this is what their parents wish), and this will be overseen by our staff. We have an extensive range of facilities, games, P.C.'s and equipment to stimulate development.

Bright Breaks Holiday Clubs: aim to provide an active and exciting day for children during the school holidays. Frequent visits and activities are planned and new friends of all ages and from different nurseries and schools can be developed. Often children who were at nursery together reform and renew valuable friendships.

These holiday clubs are proving a valuable service for busy and working parents and give them flexibility if they do not have enough holidays to cover the main summer school holidays or as a measure of cover if other arrangements fall through
